Arunabha Sengupta (Arun) was born and raised in Kolkata, India.
India. He earned two five-year Diploma awards in painting before he graduated as
as Bachelor of Science from Kolkata University. Over the subsequent years he
he juggled between a full time white-collar job as medical liason, and an artist.
He showed his work in various solo and group exhibitions and wrote
art columns in different newspapers. During this time, Arun was chosen as the art
art designer/visualizer for a movie production “Tahader Katha” (Their Story). 1992.
1992. The film won the national award. Shortly afterwards Arun became interested in
in digital art and completed a Diploma course in computer graphics.
He quit marketing and started his new career as a junior artist in the digital industry, working for Intrasoft
(www.123greetings.com), where he soon became the senior designer. After two years he moved to
Aesthetics Technologies (www.mmizone.com) where his job had diversified into both 2D and 3D for movie
premiers, corporate presentations, product launching and child educational videos.
After he moved to the United States he devoted his time in painting, participating in several exhibitions. In
recent years, he completed his associate degree in Animation and VFX from Academy of Art University, San
Francisco. Having experienced a wide set of cultural and lifestyle transitions and personal sacrifices to keep
his passion for art the focus of his life, Arun possesses a rare blend of sensitivities that find its expression in
his work. He currently lives in Boston, Massachussetts with his wife.
